The postgraduate studies Dr.  Valery Pavlov were carried out at the Chemistry Department of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (Israel) in the group of Prof. Itamer Willner and at the Department of Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Heidelberg  (Germany) in the group of Prof. Roland Kraemer. The research he has been carrying out is focused in the development of telomerase biosensors for cancer diagnosis, catalytic DNA utilization to detect amplified DNA, enzymatic generation of metallic nanoparticles and the design and preparation of self-replicating nanodevices based on DNA and peroxidases.

 

JOBS OFFERS

Please, make public or apply for the following job offer. Our group offers two positions for qualified applicants:  

 1. A Ph.D. position starting from September 2009. Duration of contract 4 years, Ph.D. research performed in our laboratory in the field of Analytical Chemistry and Biosensing should be defended at a Biochemistry or a Chemistry department of a European University. The choice of the university for the defence of Ph.D. thesis is up to the applicant. Salary is about 1200 Euros per month.    

2. A Technician position is offered starting from September 2009. Guaranteed duration of the contract is 3 years. It can be extended upon availability of funds and mutual agreement. The experimental results obtained in the course of the project concentrated on Organic and Bioanalytical Chemistry can be used for preparation and defence of a Ph.D. thesis. Salary is about 1400 Euros per month. 

Requirements for both positions: 1. Bachelor or master diploma or its equivalent in Chemistry or Biochemistry; 2. Working knowledge of English.
