The European Biophysical Societies’ Association (EBSA) has re-elected Prof. Aitziber L. Cortajarena as a member of its Executive Council. First appointed in 2023, she will now serve a second term, continuing to contribute to the development of shared scientific strategies, fostering international collaboration, and supporting biophysics across Europe.

In parallel to her ongoing role at EBSA, Prof. Cortajarena has also been elected to serve as the next President of the Spanish Biophysical Society (SBE), a term that will begin in June 2026, during the upcoming edition of the European South Atlantic Biophysics Congress. This position highlights her involvement in strengthening the field, through scientific coordination, support for research structures, and the promotion of collaborative efforts at the national Ann international  level.

As both EBSA Council Member and future SBE President, Prof. Cortajarena will continue to play a leading role in shaping the future of biophysics through organization, leadership, and collaboration—both in Spain and across Europe.
