Dorleta Jimenez de Aberasturi, Group Leader of Hybrid Biofunctional Materials Lab at CIC biomaGUNE, San Sebastian (Spain), welcomes expressions of interest from Postdoctoral researchers with an excellent track record of research and publication to jointly apply to the European Commission Marie Sklodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship Scheme in 2025 (MSCA-PF-2025, with deadline on Sep. 10th 2025). The Hybrid Biofunctional Materials Lab at CIC biomaGUNE carries out projects in Biomaterials field focused on:

  • Generation of hybrid materials for 3D printing techniques to fabricate dynamic in vitro models of pathological interest.
  • Functional extracellular matrices
  • Synthesis of nanostructured materials as stimuli actuators.
  • Surface modification and characterization of the hybrid materials
  • Development nanostructured contrast agents and/or sensors to understand cell-materials interactions and to characterize 3D models.
  • Mechanoadaptation studies.

The applicant, according to his previous background and interest, could participate in any of the above-mentioned research lines.

Required Education Level:

A PhD in a relevant area of Chemistry, Materials Science, Biotechnology, Biology/Biochemistry, Biomedical engineer or related areas.

Experience in the fields of 3D printing, 3D in vitro models and/or cell culture, materials synthesis, nanoparticle synthesis and characterization, and/or data analysis is highly desirable.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

Applicants should check eligibility and mobility conditions of MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships, such as:

a) To be eligible should have a PhD at the time of the deadline for applications and must have a maximum of eight years’ experience in research.

b) Comply with mobility rules: Not have resided or carried out your main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of the Host for more than 12 months in the 36 months immediately before the call deadline.

Duration:

The successful candidate will be hired by CIC biomaGUNE with a full-time temporary contract in line with the grant conditions (length and endowment)
