The 3D printing platform at CIC biomaGUNE invites motivated candidates to apply for a Platform Manager position. The 3D printing platform of CIC biomaGUNE is a state-of-the-art research facility in the field of additive manufacturing and characterization of the mechanical properties of (bio)materials. The platform supports and collaborates with CIC biomaGUNE’s research groups, develops its own research projects, and provides service to the scientific community at large, the health system, and specialized industry. The selected candidate will work in a multidisciplinary environment, in close cooperation with the users of the platform.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out experiments, setting up and maintaining equipment, monitoring results, collecting data and/or preparing support materials.
  • Preparation and handling of samples of various nature.
  • Handle, care for, and perform procedures with different materials.
  • Take responsibility for different 3D (bio)printers (extrusion based, fdm, stereolithography), rheometry, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) 
  • Interpret results, write reports and discuss them with users.
  • Conduct regular data quality control.
  • Order equipment and supplies.
  • Training and supervising researchers on the operations of 3D printing and techniques for mechanical characterization of materials and inks.
  • Participate in continuous training activities.
 
Required Education Level:
  • Graduate in Physical, Chemical, Biological sciences, Biomedical engineering, or equivalent.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience working with 3D printing and cell cultures is mandatory.
  • Formation in rheology and other mechanical characterization tools will be a plus.
  • Previous experience in the use of 3D imaging techniques will be highly considered. Demonstrated ability to follow detailed instructions as required by research protocols.
  • The candidate is expected to have the capacity to work in a multidisciplinary and regulated environment.
  • Excellent organization and computer skills and attention to detail are also required. Ability to work independently, being dependable, reliable, and able to consistently adhere to a schedule will be highly appreciated.
  • Written and oral communication skills in English are required.
Duration:

One-year full time contract, renewed based on performance and the platform services development.
