The Biomolecular Nanotechnology Lab at CIC biomaGUNE develops cutting-edge research in the field of protein-based functional nanostructures and  biomaterials, with a focus on:

  • Protein engineering and design of modular protein building blocks
  • Self-assembly of proteins into well-defined and functional architectures
  • Development of protein–nanomaterial hybrids for biomedical and biotechnological applications
  • Engineering of functional protein-based biomaterials with programmable properties
  • Design of protein-based nanotools for applications in bioelectronics, biosensing, catalysis, and modulation of cellular responses

The candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to one or more of these research lines, depending on their background, expertise, and research interests, within a highly interdisciplinary and collaborative environment.

Required Education Level:

Applicants should hold a PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, Biotechnology, Biology/Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, or related disciplines.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

Experience in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable: Protein engineering and protein chemistry; Supramolecular assembly and self-assembly systems; Bioactive or functional biomaterials;  Bioelectronics; Nanobiotechnology.

 Strong motivation, ability to work in an interdisciplinary environment, and interest in developing innovative protein-based technologies are essential.

Applicants should check eligibility and mobility conditions of MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships, such as:

a) To be eligible should have a PhD at the time of the deadline for applications and must have a maximum of eight years’ experience in research.

b) Comply with mobility rules: Not have resided or carried out your main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of the Host for more than 12 months in the 36 months immediately before the call deadline.

Duration:

The successful candidate will be hired by CIC biomaGUNE with a full-time temporary contract in line with the grant conditions (length and endowment)
