Guillermo Moreno-Alcántar, Group Leader of Supramolecular Inorganic Biosystems Lab at CIC biomaGUNE, San Sebastian (Spain), welcomes expressions of interest from Postdoctoral researchers with an excellent track record of research and publication to jointly apply to the European Commission Marie Sklodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship Scheme in 2026 (MSCA-PF-2026, with deadline on Sep. 9th 2026). The Supramolecular Inorganic Biosystems Lab at CIC biomaGUNE carries out projects at the interface of supramolecular inorganic chemistry and biology, focused on:

  • Design of functional supramolecular systems interacting with biological targets.
  • Innovative self-assembled inorganic structures for biomedical applications.
  • Design of stimuli-responsive and functional metalloassemblies based on biomolecules.
  • Hybrid hierarchical materials based on metallacages.
  • Self-assembly in biological environments and biomimetic self-assembly.

The applicant, according to his previous background and interests, could participate in any of the above-mentioned research lines. Related topics in the broad bioinorganic and supramolecular chemistry areas are welcome to apply.

Required Education Level:

A PhD in a relevant area of Chemistry, Materials Science, biochemistry, or related areas. Experience in the fields of synthetic organic/inorganic chemistry, supramolecular systems, bioinorganic, and medicinal chemistry.

 

 

Required Skills/Qualifications:

Applicants should check eligibility and mobility conditions of MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships, such as:

a) To be eligible should have a PhD at the time of the deadline for applications and must have a maximum of eight years’ experience in research.

b) Comply with mobility rules: Not have resided or carried out your main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of the Host for more than 12 months in the 36 months immediately before the call deadline.

Duration:

The successful candidate will be hired by CIC biomaGUNE with a full-time temporary contract in line with the grant conditions (length and endowment)
