A postdoctoral position is available within the Radiochemistry and Nuclear Medicine Group and the Molecular and Functional Biomarkers Group at CIC biomaGUNE. The successful candidate will develop novel synthetic methodologies in organofluorine chemistry, with particular emphasis on reactions relevant to radiochemistry and molecular imaging.
CIC biomaGUNE invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher to join a collaborative project involving the Radiochemistry and Nuclear Medicine Group and the Molecular and Functional Biomarkers Group. The project aims to develop novel reactions in organofluorine chemistry and investigate their potential applications in preparing fluorinated compounds and radioligands.
The researcher will work in a multidisciplinary environment at the interface of synthetic chemistry, radiochemistry, and molecular imaging and will collaborate closely with scientists from complementary research areas. The position provides access to CIC biomaGUNE’s advanced research infrastructure and offers opportunities to develop expertise in fluorine chemistry and its biomedical applications.
The principal responsibilities will include:
-
Designing, developing, and optimising novel organofluorine reactions.
-
Synthesising, purifying, and characterising fluorinated compounds.
-
Exploring the translation of selected reactions to fluorine-18 radiochemistry, where applicable.
-
Maintaining accurate experimental records and analysing scientific data.
-
Preparing scientific reports, manuscripts, and presentations.
-
Collaborating with researchers across the participating groups.
-
Contributing to the supervision and training of junior researchers, where appropriate.
