Ventipet, a health project developed at CIC biomaGUNE by researchers Ander Sáenz Antoñanzas and Aitana Nácher, has been recognised as one of the Top 10 initiatives in the Health category of EIT Jumpstarter 2025. This highly competitive, 7-month pre-acceleration programme aims to guide researchers in transforming their ideas into viable start-ups. 

Ventipet is an innovative medical diagnostic tool designed to visualize regional lung ventilation, developed by the Radiochemistry and Nuclear Imaging research group at CIC biomaGUNE, led by Dr. Jordi Llop. 

The technology is based on an inhalable gaseous radiopharmaceutical which, when combined with the high sensitivity of positron emission tomography (PET) imaging technique, enables accurate and efficient assessment of pulmonary ventilation. 

The Ventipet project aims to bring this diagnostic tool into clinical practice, positioning it as the new reference method. By doing so, it seeks to offer an effective solution for the millions of patients worldwide affected by respiratory diseases. 

Ventipet now enters a new phase of the EIT Jumpstarter programme, receiving advanced training and dedicated mentoring.
